How can the legal provisions for trade in Islam be applied in our time, and can this be implemented on the ground?

Applying the legal rulings on trade in Islam in the current era requires a deep understanding of Islamic principles and their application to modern circumstances and challenges.
There are several methods that can be used to implement this on the ground:

  1. Commitment to justice and honesty:
Merchants must adhere to fairness and honesty in all aspects of business, including financial dealings, contracts, and marketing.
  2. Stay away from taboos:
Trade in forbidden and illegal substances, such as alcohol, drugs, usury, and foodstuffs that have not obtained legal permits, must be avoided.
  3. Social and environmental responsibility:
Merchants should be socially and environmentally responsible, and strive to achieve public benefit and preserve the environment in their business activities.
  4. Cooperation and empathy:
It encourages cooperation and compassion in business, whether it is through supporting small and medium enterprises or providing assistance to needy men and women.
  5. Innovation and development:
Merchants must invest in innovation and development to improve their products and services and increase the efficiency of business operations while adhering to Sharia rulings in this context.
  6. Dealing with mercy and kindness:
Merchants should treat others with compassion and benevolence, and show tolerance and empathy in their business relationships.
To implement these provisions requires, first, that they come from within the businessman and, second, cooperation between Islamic jurists, businessmen, and civil society.
